Royaltoons
Like many people this week, I was shocked by the death of Queen Elizabeth. Not so much that she died, but that she’s just not here anymore. I kind of expected her to be around forever, like the pyramids, or that spot on the rug, or colonialism.
The Queen has made her final Brexit.
This week, I’ve asked my fellow Toonstackers to share their most purple toons, cartoons that celebrate and poke fun at royalty. To put back, at as it were, the Royal T in Toonstack.
Really classy cartoons, you know.
Please invite us to the coronation.

One of the most overlooked contributions to everyday society by royalty is the work-from-home wardrobe.

Long live the puns.

You know who’s really living large in this world of vastly disparate economic, social, and political power and resources? Small children. They just declare a new reality, from the wild whims of their maniacal imagination, and poof! you’re a horse, giving free rides till bedtime. I don’t have children of my own, and I won’t name the small child who had a very insistent “the floor is lava” phase during one recent family vacation, but I’ll just say all my imaginary shoes are burned straight through the soles.

Some contemporary Royal Jester must have shown the Queen a meme or two. Or TikToks of children dancing to a blown out remix of the British National Anthem. Maybe she would walk around Buckingham palace quietly singing to herself, “It’s corn!..”
Royalty—they’re just like us!
