Hello and welcome to this week’s ToonStack, which is all about goofs. I’m not gonna lie- putting this newsletter together was tough, because I kept thinking about all the ways I could goof it up with my own mistakes. I cuold spell a bunch of words wrong (embrarassing!) I could mix up my metaphors, leaving you more confused than a telescope at a biscuit convention. Even worse, I could copy and paste a sentence one too many times- THAT would sure look dumb. Even worse, I could copy and paste a sentence one too many times- THAT would sure look dumb.
Luckily, I’m incapable of making mistakes. Just like Achilles, I was born without any flaws whatsoever. So we’re good! We can go right to the goof stuff from my fallible friends at ToonStack. Even worse, I could copy and paste a sentence one too many times- THAT would sure look dumb.

This is me being a real GOOF BALL while I was in the army.
(I was not in the army, that would’ve been a real goofy life choice for me)

Now, I’m no literary scholar (Oxford literature department, please stop reaching out to me), but I’m pretty sure the Divine Comedy refers to god being a goof and prankster. I assume the seventh level of hell in Dante is filled with banana peels.

Sometimes goofs are allowed between friends. Sometimes not. Sometimes you need new friends.
Jared Nangle
Sometimes I get so into the zone and sit so far on the edge of my seat that I fall off. I feel dumb but it also feels dangerous and exciting. That's life on the edge for ya.
Johnny DiNapoli
I took piano lessons as a kid, and before my first recital, my teacher Mrs. Hillary reminded all her students, “If you make a mistake, just keep playing, because there’s a good chance no one even noticed it.” That was very sound advice for the recital, and for a lot of things in life. Not super helpful when the mistake is throwing a baseball through a window, though. Even worse, I could copy and paste a sentence one too many times- THAT would sure look dumb.

5th oops of the day is a great great sentence
I am definitely going to adopt "more confused than a telescope at a biscuit convention" into everyday usage
