Has there ever been such a beautiful…whimsical…celebration of cartooning in music than the a-ha Take on Me video?

Food for thought. That was a very convoluted way of saying: this ToonStack is all about Tunes. Music, baby!

In looking for songs about cartooning or drawing, I must say I drew quite the blank (see what I did there) so, if you have any top of mind please drop them in the comments. Here’s another:

Happy Monday! - Shelby

Bob Eckstein

Having just celebrated Easter, of course my mind goes to the King, Elvis Presley. As we all learned from his recent documentary, Elvis’ roots came from gospel, so I picked one of his hits. It was a hard decision as there are many Easter songs by the Big P that most people are not aware of; Blue Suede Robe, Viva Las Jesus!, Easter Egg Rock, You Are Always On My Mind, Lord, Last Supper Blues, Heartbreak Cross, Resurrection, C’mon!, Be My Easter Bunny…

Okay, I’ll stop.

Bob’s newsletter The Bob has his humor and comedy tips from the funniest people in the world like Jack Handey and Monty Python!

On the whole, cartoonists are a rebellious lot. In fact, it is generally considered that they are the most rebellious lot. Sure, on the surface this cartoon appears to just be about a cute angry bird with a cute little guitar (or is it a ukulele?). But considered within the context of the current American political climate, it’s clearly about something much more transgressive and subversive: the word “pooping.”

Someone had to say it.

Ellis Rosen

I grew up next to the Holland Tunnel, so I find nothing more soothing than the soft sound of traffic honking me fast asleep. It’s a super power: I can live anywhere in a city, no matter how noisy the neighborhood. The drawback is that I fall asleep at the wheel 10 minutes into every drive. (Just kidding, I don't actually have a driver's license, I’m-a real New Yorker!)
