Greetings ToonStack Subscribers (do you have a chosen name yet? let us know).
Today the omniscient narration of this here email is penned by me, Shelby, and I’m thrilled to introduce a ToonStack topic no one really liked: Fall.
That’s right. Fall. What does it mean? Do I mean the season, imagined outside the realities of climate change? Do I mean it biblically? Do I mean the show where Gillian Anderson flawlessly struts around in well-cut suits solving the sinister crimes of a way too attractive man? Or perhaps I mean falling in love, falling head over heels, or simply Fallin’ by Alicia Keys. No? Then may I interest you in Niagara Falls? How about the classic grape lady falls?
Now that we’ve covered a few notable types of falls, let us indulge—perchance, fall into—some brilliant interpretations on the subject, please enjoy.

It's not that I love the Fall, it's just that I hate every other season.

Of Autumn, Keats wrote, “Where are the songs of spring? Ay, Where are they?/ Think not of them, thou hast thy music too.” The music of Fall is obviously arguing about who gets to wear the warm socks.
Hilary Campbell
Just like every good Nora Ephronian, when I think of the fall, I think of bouquets of sharpened pencils, going back to school, getting a new notebook, falling for some guy that will eventually leave you and taking a class to fulfill one of the random requirements of your undergrad. This is a cartoon I have tried to sell for years. I mean, YEARS. I don’t know how many times I’ve resubmitted it, but I do know that I think it’s fucking hilarious. (To buy this toon, click here!)

For me, fall is all one big lead up to Halloween. I love it. The cold, spooky nights. That one pumpkin costume every baby gets dressed in. And, of course, good ol’ horror movies. If you have and scary movie recs, drop ‘em in the comments!

I grew up in New England, so when I hear “fall” I think “trees.” Also when I hear “fall” I think “fall” as in: something is on the ground, and it might be a tree.

I will not be explaining further, thank you.
