#165: THAT'S ABSURD!
See what happens when a Penguin and a Squibberjam eat toast in the laundry.
Hello! It’s me, , your editor for this week’s Absurd edition of
I sure hope you don’t like logical thoughts and straightforward ideas because this week’s collection of cartoons is nothing short of bonkers. Absurd. Insane. Farcicle. Ludicrous.
I was always a fan of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey when I was a kid. He had some great ones, like:
"I guess of all of my uncles, I liked Uncle Caveman the best. We called him Uncle Caveman because he lived in a cave. And because sometimes he'd eat one of us. Later on, we found out he was a bear."
My favourite cartoons are the ones where you have to scratch your head and either say, “Wait, I don’t get it?” or “How did this get made?” and “How many edibles did this cartoonist do?” The more absurd and nonsensical, the better. Give me a pint of wine and a non-sequitur any day of the week (except Thursdays), and I’m a happy boy. I hope I spelled non-sequitur properly.
On with the show!
SHANNON WHEELER
My cat cartoons are the oddest NY’er cartoon submissions I’ve done. Probably because cats exist in a parallel universe. Some of what they do is logical and other times; their behaviour is batshit crazy. I have two cats, and they never cease to amaze me, so of course, I do a lot of cat cartoons. Mostly, my cartoons have a point, but sometimes I tap into the spirit of a cat and do something that makes no sense.
My Too Much Coffee Man cartoons lean into the absurd more than my NY’er efforts. I don’t think of any audience other than myself. And my inspiration is purely to amuse myself.

I'm looking for new members to join my band, "Lemon Vestibule." If you can play the electric mavis or the double flench, please shoot me an email.
HILARY F. CAMPBELL
I plan to make as many ABBA cartoons as possible. This is my third.
